Dr Eleasa Sieh

GP Counsellor
MBBS, FRACGP, Grad Cert (Pastoral and Advanced Counsellor Training), Masters of Arts in Counseling (Westminster Theological Seminary)

Dr Eleasa Sieh completed her medical studies at UQ in Brisbane and is a General Practitioner who is accredited by the General Practice Mental Health Standards Collaboration to offer Focussed Psychological Strategies, having completed Level 2 Mental Health Skills Training with the Australian Society of Psychological Medicine. She is able to integrate techniques in motivational interviewing, structured problem-solving, cognitive behavioural therapy, acceptance-commitment therapy, and interpersonal therapy using a trauma-informed approach. She maintains a whole-person approach for all conditions, working with those experiencing anxiety and depression, chronic health conditions, eating disorders, and grief and loss.

If you are eligible for a GP Mental Health Care Plan, it would be beneficial (though not required) to have your GP complete this and send a referral letter along with the plan prior to your first appointment, exactly like being referred to a psychologist. This will provide up to 10 sessions where the out-of-pocket cost for each session is about $65. Without the Mental Health Care Plan, the out-of-pocket cost would be about $90.

She is also able to offer a Biblical counselling approach to her work and this can be requested by the client.

She was born in Toronto, Canada and learned both Cantonese Chinese and French growing up, though she works primarily in English. She enjoys spending time in the great outdoors hiking and the great indoors reading. She finds it a privilege and a joy to join the process of growth alongside her clients.
