Lachlan Dux

As a student counsellor, Lachlan’s approach prioritises warmth, attentiveness, and collaboration to support his clients through their challenges and mobilise them toward their most authentic selves. Through both his passion and experience journeying alongside late teenage and young adult men, Lachlan engages with his clients authentically, committing to championing them through their personal and emotional challenges. He creates space for reflection, growth, and the development of practical strategies for resilience. With Lachlan, you’re welcomed to fully express yourself—without judgement, shame, or humiliation.

Lachlan draws on insights from a range of relevant counselling approaches—including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centred Therapy (PCT), and others he is refining through his studies—and values engaging people in a creative and down-to-earth way. In light of this, Lachlan’s sole commitment is to the client’s needs—not to a rigid framework. He seeks to identify the most practical pathway for meaningful change for each of his clients.

Outside of his work, Lachlan relishes connecting with friends over a good coffee (also working as a passionate barista on the side), spending time with his family over a meal, exploring the outdoors, fishing and 4×4 driving, and training with mates at the gym. With a strong commitment to his Christian faith, Lachlan is open to engaging with spiritual themes and welcomes faith-based concerns when clients wish to explore them.

Lachlan offers appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s
