Psychosexual Assessments for Christian Ministry Candidates
Our psychosexual assessments are designed to provide an understanding of an individual’s sexual history, developmental background, relational dynamics, and behavioral patterns. These assessments are typically requested by referring organisations to help inform decisions regarding a candidate’s suitability for Christian ministry.
The assessment process includes:
- Psychometric testing
- Clinical interview
- Review of relevant background or collateral information (if provided)
Throughout the process, individuals will be asked about personal and sensitive topics, including sexual behaviour, mental health concerns, and interpersonal functioning. These conversations are conducted with care, discretion, and professionalism.
Following the assessment, a detailed written report is prepared and provided to the referring organisation. This report offers valuable insights into the individual’s psychological and relational functioning. However, it is important to note:
- This is not a therapeutic service
- The assessment does not predict future behaviour with certainty
- It is not a formal risk assessment. If significant concerns arise, a referral for further evaluation may be recommended
Confidentiality and Reporting
While sensitive areas are explored during the assessment, the report will only include information that is directly relevant to the referral question or to safety concerns. For example, descriptions of sexual behaviour are typically summarised in general terms (e.g., “engagement in sexually compulsive behaviours”) rather than outlined in explicit detail.
Access to the full report is at the discretion of the referring organisation. Mandatory reporting laws apply—if concerns arise indicating a current risk to children or others, these must be reported to the relevant authorities.
Voluntary Participation
Participation in the assessment is voluntary. Individuals may decline to answer specific questions or withdraw from the process at any time. However, incomplete participation may limit the accuracy or depth of the report and may be noted in the final summary.
