Affrica is a qualified counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). With professional qualifications in both counselling and psychology, her therapeutic style utilises evidence based principles grounded in research and theory to provide you with a holistic and relevant approach. She has experience working with children across a variety of settings; as well as disability and mental health support work with individuals. Affrica will create a safe space for you to pause, explore your issues, and build your capacity and resilience to handle life and its adversities. She believes the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important elements of therapy, and for this reason Affrica makes it a priority to foster a safe, welcoming, and empathetic environment with you. She tailors her therapy to meet the needs of the client and where they are currently at. Her approach is warm, gentle, and compassionate and she believes in the importance of valuing, honouring and remaining curious about the clients story. She will work with you to explore your struggles, develop more productive coping skills, enhance self-esteem and self-awareness, and help you move toward a more positive and grounded sense of well-being.
