Claire is an Educational and Developmental Psychologist who has also worked as an early primary teacher. Claire is interested in working with young people with social or emotional challenges such as anxiety, learning difficulties, friendship skills, coping with change, and bouncing back from bullying. She is also experienced in psychoeducational assessment and report writing. Claire uses a positive, strengths-based approach by equipping children and families with tools to cope with difficult feelings and situations. Claire tries to make sessions enjoyable and age-appropriate.
Claire has conversational Auslan skills and enjoys working with Deaf and hearing-impaired clients of any age, as well as CODAs (Children of Deaf Adults). She uses a qualified NABS interpreter where required.
Claire is able to provide services for children with Autism or other pervasive developmental disorders with Medicare rebates accessible under the Helping Children with Autism program (with referral from a paediatrician or psychiatrist).
